Wayne Henry Gilchrest, Jr., also known as Holy Wayne, was the founder of a following created after the Sudden Departure. He claims to have the ability to "take away" people's pain.

BiographyEdit

Before the Sudden DepartureEdit

There has been no mention of Wayne's life before the departure other than the fact that he had son who departed.

After the Sudden DepartureEdit

Wayne is a healer who has developed a small, but well known following because they believe he has psionic abilities to heal the pain people suffer through as a result of losing loved ones in the Sudden Departure. On-screen he has given pain-curing "hugs" to a Texas Congressman and a bereaved Nora Durst. He has prophetic visions of the past as well as predicts events in the future, including his own death. In the beginning of the series, he claims that the three year "grace period" is over. Soon after, Wayne's compound is raided by ATFEC (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, Explosives and Cults). Prior to being raided he was wanted for eight counts of statutory rape in Pennsylvania.

Following the raid, Wayne went into hiding. He ordered Tommy Garvey to take care of Christine, who was pregnant with Wayne's child.

Later, it is revealed that Wayne had impregnated at least one other girl from the ranch. He similarly tasked another follower with taking care of this girl.

He dies after having been in a knife fight with ATFEC, and grants his final miracle to Kevin.
